Is Docker required?

No.

Docker is:

  • not mandatory;
  • not used by default;
  • not part of the core architecture.

Suri Oculus is designed for:

  • native installation;
  • systemd-managed services;
  • minimal runtime overhead.

Docker may be used optionally, for example for testing purposes.
